My silk press always comes out silky smooth and full of bounce, and her braiding skills are top-notch. I am a Muslim and they accomodate making the space hijabi friendly when I do book appointments. It's always a good time and I leave feeling rejuvenated and fresh. This place is fantastic! And the hair stylist are so efficient, respectful and professional! I had to get my silk press done for celebrating my birthday weekend and a big award (Canada’s Top 100 Black Women). I called a day before flying in and they booked me in right after my flight, I was expecting my very thick hair to take over 3 hours. They were done in almost 1 hr and half of less. I am soooo super grateful and truly felt like these people were complete angels from God. The price was also very affordable and they know how to love and care for Black hair. I don’t usually give reviews but when I say this establishment is one of the best in Canada I mean it!!

It's a piece on my forearm that took a little under four hours, and Sheldon was super cool to sit with through the whole process. He took his time to make sure the tattoo was lined up perfectly, and the size I wanted, along with explaining the best way to position the tattoo, considering movement of my arm. Highly reccomend his work if you're looking for your next tattoo. Today I had probably the best tattoo experience I have ever had. I had an appointment with Amanda (@amandajane.tattoos), and from before the appointment until I left, she went above and beyond. 2 days before she sent a sketch of my custom that blew me away. When I arrived she offered me water or Gatorade. I had small adjustments I wanted to make to the design and she switched things up super quickly. She then took her time and care to ensure the stencil was placed perfectly. The actual tattooing was a breeze, she made sure to check in throughout to ensure I was comfortable, and took breaks when we needed to. We had wonderful conversations about everything from sailor moon to the evils of capitalism, but she also respected moments when I needed silence. I am blown away by her work and the whole experience. The small details like bandaids in all skin tones in the washroom, multiple email reminders to ensure I had all the details beforehand, and so much more made this truly a one of a kind experience. This is the perfect shop for your first or fiftieth tattoo, and it is what all other shops should aspire to be.

Coming out of some of the most prestigious salons in the city, Ernesto and Dino have been in the business for 2 decades now and their skills show. So many stylists can make you look good for a few hours. With Ernesto, my cuts are always low maintenance and just grow out beeeaaaautifully. If that isn't the mark of a top stylist, I don't know what is. I'm kind of glad they're on the second floor since it's hard enough to book them as it is!
